(Columbus, OH) -- As the weather begins to get colder, officials with American Electric Power are reminding customers of a program designed to help lower heating bills.

The company began accepting applications yesterday for its Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program to help more than 65,000 eligible households maintain service during the winter. A customer's gross income must be at or below 300% of the federal poverty guidelines to qualify.

Applications for AEP's Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program can be submitted online at DollarEnergy.org by clicking the My-App tab.
