(Columbus, OH) -- Several Central Ohio medical centers are preparing to administer a second-round of the COVID-19 vaccine starting today.
Officials said yesterday that Pfizer's vaccine requires two doses given three weeks apart, and today marks the start of the third week since vaccinations began. Close to 1,000 employees at OSU Wexner Medical Center are expected to have been fully inoculated by the end of the week.
Wexner's Dr. Crystal Tubbs said the second dose is crucial because the Pfizer vaccine only has a 95% efficacy rate if the patient receives both shots.
