City Council Members Looking For Answers After CPD Helicopter Takes Weekend Joyride

City-of-Columbus

(Columbus, OH) -- Columbus City Council President Pro Tempore Elizabeth Brown is demanding answers after a police helicopter's alleged joyride.

Brown responded yesterday to reports from Flight-Aware showing a police helicopter flying over the city on Saturday morning, ending its patrol by spelling out the letters C-P-D. Last year Brown proposed reducing the city's helicopter fleet by one, but it was tabled after police said every aircraft was essential.

The Department responded to the flight path, saying no service calls were missed and no extra fuel was used during the run.
