Fatal Shootings On Thursday Pushes Columbus Past 150 Homicides In 2021

(Columbus, OH) -- The city of Columbus has surpassed 150 homicides this year after two fatal shootings on Thursday.  

The first incident happened around 3 p.m. near North 4th Street with a 24-year-old male victim who later died at Grant Medical Center. The second shooting happened after 5:30 p.m. at an apartment complex near Norton Road with an unidentified victim who died at OhioHealth Doctor's Hospital. 

In 2020, the city did not report its 151st murder until November and is on pace to pass last year's record of 175 homicides.
