(Columbus, OH) -- Governor DeWine says he is looking at the option of mobilizing Ohio National Guard soldiers as school bus drivers.

DeWine spoke yesterday about the shortage of school bus drivers that is affecting Ohio and the entire country. The Governor said the National Guard has been deployed throughout the pandemic in several capacities already, including giving COVID-19 tests, administering vaccines, and stocking food banks.

On Monday, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker activated 250 of his state's National Guard to drive school transport vans.
