New Census Data Shows Columbus Among Fastest Growing Midwest Metro Areas

(Columbus, OH) -- New data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows Central Ohio saw steady growth in population over the past ten years. 

According to statistics released yesterday, Columbus and the surrounding ten-county Central Ohio area has seen an increase of more than 230,000 people or around 12% growth. The Census ranked Columbus as the 17th fastest-growing metro area among the top 51 metros in the country.

In the Midwest, Columbus ranked number one in growth ahead of Indianapolis and Minneapolis, with Cincinnati and Dayton the only other Ohio cities to see growth and not decline.
