(Columbus, OH) -- State officials say they have corrected an error on Ohio's new license plates that show the Wright Brothers' plane in the wrong direction.

On Thursday, social media sleuths began pointing out the design of the plates featuring the Wright Flyer towing a red banner reading Birthplace of Aviation had it attached to the front of the aircraft. Orville and Wilbur Wright designed the world's first motorized airplane inside their bicycle shop in Dayton before successfully testing it in 1903.

The BMV says the plates will be produced with the Wright Flyer facing the correct direction.
