(Columbus, OH) -- Incoming Ohio State President Kristina M. Johnson is not ready to support postponing the football season until next spring.

According to reports from yesterday, Johnson said if the vote were held now, she would be against moving the season, but could support it being pushed back a few weeks past the current September 3rd start date. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is vehemently against postponing until spring but echoed Johnson's willingness to a delay.

Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith has also come out against postponing and has publicly backed OSU's ability to play safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
