That's according to Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton. She said yesterday that around 1,300 of the 3,600 beds in intensive care units statewide are available right now.
Acton says Ohio hospitals are normally operating at 75% this time of year, adding that they are freeing up beds by canceling elective surgeries.
COVID-19 Death Toll Is 8 In Ohio
The death toll related to COVID-19 stands at 8 in Ohio. The latest numbers from the state Department of Health show over 560 people have tested positive for the coronavirus, with over 60 of those patients in intensive care.
Confirmed cases have been reported in more than half of the state's counties. Around 15% of those infected are health care workers.
