Ohio Unemployment Claims More Than Great Recession

JobandFamilyServices

(Columbus, OH) - There are more people applying for unemployment benefits in Ohio right now than during the Great Recession in 2008 and 2009.

The state Department of Job and Family Services director, Kim Hall, tells 10TV they're working overtime to meet the demand. Jobless claims were up from 5,000 at the start of the month to 140,000 last week.

Hall is urging folks to be patient.
