Woman Convicted Of Killing Baby Freed From Prison After Almost Two Decades

(Columbus, OH) -- A woman convicted of shaking a child to death in 2002 while babysitting is now free due to new evidence.

On Thursday, the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office said they would not oppose the court's order vacating the conviction against Kim Hoover-Moore, freeing her from prison. Hoover-Moore was convicted of murder and child endangerment after a baby in her care died from shaken baby syndrome.

The original coroner and other experts later reviewed the evidence again and determined the fatal injury to the child occurred days to weeks before she was in Hoover-Moore's care.
